Carbon Fiber has been used over the past 50 years for planes and race cars as well high-end sporting equipment. Technology in carbon fiber has advanced over the past decade to make it more affordable and durable. By incorporating layering techniques carbon fiber can be flexible while still being stronger and lighter than aluminum or even titanium.
Motion Composite’s Veloce, Helio, and Apex’s carbon fiber frames are therefore the strong, lightweight and flexible. The folding frame wheelchairs (Veloce and Helio) have a molded cross brace and side frame rather than welded pieces which means to you a chair with less movement and better propulsion efficiency. There are no welds to add weight or squeak, and the frame is more durable.
