Helio A6

The Helio A6 has transformed my daily life in ways I didn't expect. As a new full-time wheelchair user with a progressive neurological condition, managing my energy is everything — and this chair's ultralight aluminum frame means I spend dramatically less physical effort on mobility, leaving more capacity for the things that matter. The Newton Gravity wheels with solid urethane tires roll exceptionally smoothly and require zero maintenance. The quick-release axles make car loading straightforward for my partner and me. The overall configuration — 18" seat, 3° camber, folding push handles — was dialed in perfectly through Spinlife's consultation process, and the fit shows in daily use. A special thanks to Jeff Russell from Spinlife, who was personal and very responsive helping me through the process I've used the chair across a range of environments including European Cities and New York, and the ride quality, maneuverability, and build quality have all impressed me. It folds compactly for travel and is light enough to load into a car without assistance becoming a production. For someone managing a complex medical condition, this chair does exactly what it needs to do — get out of the way and let me live my life.

Difficult to identify meaningful weaknesses at 10 weeks in. The only issue I've encountered is a localized noise on one solid urethane tire following impact with difficult NYC curbs — possibly a minor separation between tire and rim. This appears to be a durability question specific to the solid urethane tire under urban impact conditions rather than a design flaw, and Jeff Russell from Spinlife has been responsive in helping address it. Minor observation: the folding push handles, while practical, add a small amount of flex compared to fixed handles. Not a functional problem, just a trade-off worth knowing about for users who rely heavily on attendant pushing.

Light weight, quality of materials and workmanship. It was also a good buying experience.

The Instruction Booklet could be improved considerably, particularly with regard to adjustments. Not particularly well laid out and maybe bigger and clearer illustrations would be helpful. Not really accessible to non-mechanically inclined.

This chair is being used daily and so far no complaints. Very light and nimble.

It is durable, for sure.

I recommend measuring 1-2 inches smaller. My chair feels way too big for me. Unfortunately, since it is custom built, there are no returns on the Helio A6, so I am stuck with the size and payment of this chair.

The chair is for my husband who has limited walking ability.

The detachable legs, easy to swing out in either direction or remove. Brakes feel really solid. I like the amount of tension required to put on or release . This chair is extremely easy to Propel and operate and gets around easily in tight spaces.

The pneumatic wheels have made his rides outdoors much less bumpy. Also I can push him more easily. The lightweight factor is such a plus. I'm a 66 year old woman and have no problem lifting this chair in and out of my car! Yay!

Wish I would have gotten hand brakes to slow us when walking down hills.
