Wondering what the best lift chairs for seniors are? Don't know the best lift chair to choose? Not sure where to start?
The following brief overview covers our major categories in power lift recliners. Here are the most common types of lift chairs:
  1. 3-Position Lift Chairs - A three-position lift chair has a sitting position, a lifted position, a reading position and a recline position, which is sometimes called a "napping position". It is NOT a full recline. This is the most popular category for a lift chair with a broad range of styles, features and prices to meet everyone's needs and budget. These chairs have one motor that operate all functions. When you lift the legrest the back rest cannot be adjusted independently. For this feature we recommend upgrading to a 2 motor infinite-position or zero gravity chair.
  2. Infinite-Position Lift Chairs - For a full-recline position (also called the Trendelenburg Position) which elevates the feet above the heart, select an 'infinite-position' lift chair. The infinite-position lift chairs have dual motors which allow you to control the footrest and the back independently, and they recline fully, allowing you to use the chair for sleeping. If you're looking for the most versatile lift chair, these are for you.
  3. Zero Gravity Lift Chairs- Zero gravity lift chairs are a subset of infinite-position chairs where the seat box can raise and tilt much like an adjustable car seat. By raising the lower back, zero gravity lift chairs put less pressure on the spine. This zero-gravity reclining position correctly aligns the spine, relaxes muscle tension, improves circulation and expands lung capacity.

When choosing a lift chair, it's essential to consider factors such as the user's specific needs, body type, available space, and desired features. Each type of lift chair is designed to meet various requirements and provide tailored solutions for improved mobility and comfort.
Electric Lifting Mechanism: Our lift chairs are equipped with an electric lifting mechanism that smoothly and gently transitions the chair to your preferred position, helping you stand up effortlessly or recline with ease. This innovative technology ensures you never have to struggle or rely on others for support.
User-Friendly Remote Control: Take control of your comfort with the remote control included. Adjust the chair's position, pause at your desired angle, or indulge in the relaxing massage and soothing heat functions—all at your fingertips.
Multiple Positions for Ultimate Comfort: With multiple seating positions, you can customize your experience. Whether you prefer an upright position for daily activities, a reclined angle for relaxation, or a fully flat position for a peaceful nap, our lift chairs cater to your needs.
Style and Upholstery Variety: Choose from a wide selection of upholstery, including fabric and faux leather, to match your home decor seamlessly. Our range of styles ensures your chair complements your personal taste while offering top-tier comfort and functionality.
Wide Selection of Sizes: Our lift chairs come in various sizes to accommodate different body types. Finding the perfect fit is crucial for both comfort and support.

Durability and Quality: Our lift chairs are built to last, featuring durable construction and high-quality materials. Invest in a chair that's not only comfortable but also dependable.

Lifting Position: Lifts to help move you safely to a standing position or securely lowers to a seated position. The characteristic position of all lift chairs, the lifted position is achieved by an electric motor in the chair base that raises the entire chair slowly upwards. Perfect for those with difficulty getting into or out of a standard recliner, the lifted position gently eases you into a standing position or allows you to safely lower yourself into the chair without having to bend or stoop.
When fully lifted, the angle of the seat remains relatively constant— eliminating the fear of "falling out" of the chair. And because the lifting action is controlled by a constant pressure switch on the remote control, you are in complete control of the lifting movement. Remove your finger from the switch and the chair will stop moving immediately.
Lounge Position: Commonly referred to as a "TV-watching position", this position is just one of the countless personalized positions available on Infinite and Zero Gravity lift chairs. Unlike 2- or 3-Position lift chairs where the back and legrest operate together with a single motor, these luxurious chairs have two independent motors, allowing the legrest to be set to any position without impacting the position of the back (and vice versa).
Lounge Reclined: In the Lounge Reclined position, the back reclines for lounging or napping while the legrest raises completely. The lounge reclined position is not available on a 2-position lift chair. Due to their single-motor functionality, this is the only position in which the legrest is fully raised on 3 Position lift chairs. The level of recline is perfect for lounging or napping, but it can be too significant for most people to comfortably watch television. If you want to raise the legrest completely while in a more upright position or you need a chair that reclines completely into a sleeping position, please select an Infinite Position or Zero Gravity lift chair.
Sleeping: Infinite Position and Zero Gravity lift chairs have dual motors which allow the back and legrest to be controlled independently, they can achieve this nearly flat position. For those who often sleep through the night in their recliner, these chairs offer the most luxurious and comfortable option available.
Trendelenburg Position: The Trendelenburg position lowers the headrest completely while raising the legrest slightly above horizontal to help stretch the back and improve circulation. Created by German physician Friederich Trendelenburg, this position may offer therapeutic benefits for conditions such as edema that benefit from elevating the legs for a certain amount of time each day.
Infinite Zero Gravity Position: Thanks to a seat that raises and lowers to pivot the hips into better alignment, this special position helps provide balanced support of the entire body, reducing pressure on any one particular area. Only available on Zero Gravity Position lift chairs, this position helps increase relaxation and circulation and minimize muscle tension and spinal pressure.

Selecting Lift Chair Store: Lift Chairs
Selecting the Best Lift Chair

SpinLife offers you a comprehensive selection of the best lift chairs to meet your every need, ranging from a basic three-position electric recliner all the way to an infinite-position electric recliner. SpinLife has chosen Golden Technologies and Pride Lift Chair as our vendors of choice for their quality manufacturing processes and their creative product development.

Wondering what the best lift chairs for seniors are? Don't know the best lift chair to choose? Not sure where to start? The following brief overview of what's available among the electric recliner selection should help get you on your way.

3-Position Lift Chairs - A three-position lift chair has a sitting position, a lifted position, a reading position and a recline position, which is sometimes called a "napping position". It is NOT a full recline. This is the most popular category for an electric recliner with a broad range of styles, features and prices to meet everyone's needs and budget.

Infinite-Position Lift Chairs - For a full-recline position which elevates the feet above the heart, select an 'infinite-position' lift chair. The infinite-position electric recliner chairs have dual motors which allow you to control the footrest and the back independently, and they recline fully, allowing you to use the chair for sleeping. If you're looking for the most versatile lift chair, these are for you.

Heavy Duty Lift Chairs - Most lift chairs can accommodate up to 375 pounds.  If you need a higher weight capacity we have a wide selection to choose from with weight capacities up to 700 pounds. Most have dual motors to ensure powerful operation and reduce wear on the motors of the electric recliner with long-term use. Lift chairs in this category are also available to accommodate those who are taller than average.

Seat Lifts - Seat lifts are a great product that turns any chair in your home into a lift chair. They fit into existing chairs and come in both manual and power models, making them switch from chair to chair with ease. They are a great choice for when price is a concern. Seat lifts are also great for traveling, whether it is to visit the grandkids or to the next room in your home.
