Overview of the Obi Independent Feeding Device

The Obi is a first of its kind. It is a robotic arm device that provides dining assistance to those with upper body extremity limitations that may prevent them from feeding themselves. Obi has a plate with 4 compartments to hold the portions of a meal. Obi’s arm delivers the food from a bowl to the user’s mouth when the user selects the desired portion. The user has full control of what portion and when they wish to eat. Obi is capable of can deliver food via its robotic arm in any number of directions and positions while also controlling portion size and spoon wiping. The user easily controls Obi with Accessibility Switches which can be actuated by any part of the body. Obi can also be operated by Sip-and-Puff attachments.

What Makes This Different

Everything about Obi is unique. Besides being the first to give the freedom of self-dining back to those who have lost upper body capabilities, Obi also gives the user independence and the ability to share a meal in a social setting with family and friends. Safety and is also a feature of Obi. A Collision Detector will stop the arm and back it away from the user in the event of misuse or potential harm to the user.

Why We Like It

In addition to making independent dining and socializing with loved ones, the Obi is functionally simple and easy to maintain. The Obi plate, bowls, and spoon can be cleaned in the dishwasher. The device can also be wiped down and disinfected by hand after each meal. The Obi is powered by a rechargeable Li-Ion battery which provides 3-4 hours of usage per charge. The ability to hold a long charge, compact size and light weight of 7 pounds allows the Obi to easily be taken out of the home. Meals can be enjoyed at the homes of friends, family, or restaurants.

Warranty Information for the Obi Independent Feeding Device
FREQUENCY OF USE
Obi is for intermittent use and should be operated for the duration of a single meal. Between each meal, at least a

one hour power off break is good practice. Significant power off breaks help maximize the life of Obi.

LIMITED WARRANTY TERM

12 months from the date or shipment or after the first 400 hours of usage, whichever occurs first.

LIMITATIONS

Only manufacturing defects of materials or workmanship are covered when Obi is used properly and maintained in

accordance with all instructions. This Warranty is void if Obi is improperly handled, dropped, put in the microwave,

or exposed to excessive liquids. In addition, any attempt(s) to open or dismantle Obi, including the Arm or Base

assembly, will void this Warranty.

The Limited Warranty excludes Spoons, Plates, Placemats, and switches. Spoons, Plates, Placemats, and switches

are non-returnable once used.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SERVICE

Contact Obi’s Product Team at Service@MeetObi.com to initiate the return process. Obi is a precisely calibrated

device and inadequate packaging solutions will not protect Obi from damage. We are not responsible for damage

incurred to the device due to insufficient packaging. If the original packaging materials are lost or damaged, please

contact us for replacement packaging prior to shipping the device.

COST OF REPAIRS

Repairs not covered under Warranty are subject to the cost of materials, labor, and shipping and handling. After

returning the device, Obi’s Product Team will assess the extent of repairs needed and will provide a cost estimate

for customer approval.

- Please inspect your product upon delivery. If the product is damaged or is not the correct product, please refuse the delivery. If your item was delivered without a signature and is damaged or incorrect please call SpinLife Customer Service.
- Once accepted, the following conditions apply:
  - This item has a 20% Restocking Fee.
  - You are responsible for the cost of return shipping and the product must be in the original packaging.
  - The item must be in NEW AND UNUSED CONDITION.
  - All accessories and items that were included in the box must be returned.
  - Items canceled after the product has already shipped will be considered a return.
  - Mattresses ordered with beds are non-returnable.
  - Delivery service fees, including Outbound Freight, Next-Day and Overnight shipping fees, Inside Delivery, White Glove Delivery and Tech Set-Up are not refundable.
- Return Process:
  - Request an RA (Return Authorization) from SpinLife within 10 business days of delivery acceptance.
  - Once the RA has been issued from SpinLife, ship the item back to the address noted on the RA within 15 business days.
  - Once the product is received it will be inspected for damage and signs of use. If item shows any signs of use it is not eligible for a refund. In the event your item is not returnable we will contact you and you can decide if you’d like it shipped back. You will be responsible for shipping fees to get the item back to you.
  - Once approved, your refund, minus any restocking and freight fees, will be issued to your original form of payment.
