Good mobility in a home with few pieces of furniture.

4.0 / 5
Strengths:

It is the only chair of this kind where the leg support can be lifted instead of remaining at a 90* angle(which hurts my leg). It is easily maneuverable ; in fact it takes only a TOUCH of the joy stick to maneuver it , perhaps too sensitive. I didn't know this when I ordered it; I almost sent it back. It is too large for a regular type home; it should be made smaller. The batteries hold a lot but they are too big & make the chair heavy. The leg pieces are very stiff & hard to move. I am handicapped & don't have much strength in my hands & arms. I've been told that oiling it won't help. The manual should be rewritten for the USER , not the person who is assembling it. More USER type info should be written to make more things understandable.

Weaknesses:

Only a TOUCH will move it far- too sensitive. Leg parts are too stiff. I have great difficulty moving them into position. Too large- too wide & too long from the front to the back. Batteries too heavy. Manual should be rewritten for the USER, not the person who puts it together. Many handicapped people haven't much strength in the parts of the body which aren't disabled. ie: trouble handling parts of the chair especially the leg parts.

82 years old- right knee cannot be replaced again. I used to be more active before my knee went out. Now I find myself going out less & less.

4.0 / 5
Strengths:

The power chair is a tank and a jungle gym. I take it off road -- through fields and down hill on walking paths -- no problem. It's solid enough that I can I use it to help pull myself up off the floor.

Weaknesses:

The engines on my current and past Merits power wheelchairs began to make a whirling noise after about a week.
