Choosing a Transport Wheelchair

Almost every wheelchair manufacturer has a line of transport wheelchairs, so there is a lot of variety.  We have divided our transport chairs (also called companion chairs) into three major categories to better help you find the right chair.  The three categories are Standard, Lightweight and Heavy Duty. One important thing to note, is that all transport wheelchairs fold for transport/storage.

The Standard Transport Category includes chairs that weigh 26 lbs or more. The weight capacity ranges from 250 - 300 lbs. Most have fold-down backs for compact storage.

The Lightweight category includes chairs under 22 lbs, with some being as light as 16 lbs. The weight capacities range from 225 - 300 lbs. Lightweight Transport Wheelchairs are slightly more expensive, but the are much easier for the caregiver or companion to push and lift into a vehicle.

The Heavy Duty Transport Wheelchair Category includes chairs with a weight capacity over 300 lbs. The highest weight rated transport chair available from SpinLife is 450lbs. They feature large, flat-free casters and double cross braces for added support.

How do I buy a transport wheelchair from Spinlife?

Can you bill Medicare for me?
Unfortunately transport chairs are not a Medicare covered item.

Will I be charged sales tax?
No.

Is shipping free?
Yes, standard ground shipping is FREE for all manual wheelchairs. (Orders over $50 always ship for free everyday at SpinLife!)

What happens if I need repairs or parts for my transport wheelchair?
SpinLife is here to support you through the complete sale and this includes helping you with any problems that may come up after you receive your manual wheelchair.  SpinLife honors all manufacturer warranties on the products we sell.  Call us at 800-850-0335 and tell us what you need.  If the part is covered by warranty we will send it to you at no charge.  If it is not covered by the manufacturers warranty we will make it available to you at a fair price...just like everything else we sell.

What happens if I want to return my transport wheelchair?
Transport wheelchairs can be returned within 30 days as long as it is unused and in its original packaging.  You would be responsible for freight. If the wheelchair arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, SpinLife will arrange for freight and for shipping you an undamaged or corrected unit.
