Strengths: well made, useful features
Weaknesses: oxygen holder is a poor fit, comes without instructions, neither spinlife nor manufacturers tech support could tell me how to connect it!! did learn you need to order antitips which keep the lower end attached, but finally decided to attach the bracket on the holder to the side of the backrest. This works but now the handle of the chair and the oxygen holder are tight together. Also, some adjustments were difficult because of tight connections.

End User Desc: James M. 49. C7 Quad. [chest down] GA. I have been disabled for 30 years.
Strengths: Easy to adjust wheels, back, and leg rest. I have the back wheels placed in middle hole, and the front wheels in the bottom. This gives the chair a slight back tilt angle, for comfort. Be sure to purchase the anti-tip bars if you use this type of setup, just for safety purposes. I mostly use a electric chair, but use a manual chair for back-up, and when traveling in a car. I got the silver texture color, but wished i had gotten the silver polish. This chair has a lot of natural black, silver polish will give the chair a two tone color, plus silver polish will not show dust build up, compared to other darker colors.
Weaknesses: No caster lock's are offered as a option, so be careful when placing weight on the front of the chair. You can turn the front wheels forward before sliding your weight forward, this will help from tipping the chair forward, and throwing you to the floor.

End User Desc: 58-year old 4'11" woman. Nerve pain in one foot, difficulty walking long distances.
Strengths: This is a great travel wheelchair. I have a Toyota Corolla, and if I move the passenger seat forward, it will fit right behind it, with the wheels put on a blanket on the back seat. The chair is very well made, and looks quite sturdy to me. I’d like to know how it holds up to airline baggage handlers, because I’d like to travel with it. If anyone has experience flying with their chair, please let us know how it survived!
Weaknesses: Removing the wheels: The only instructions in the manual are how to push the axel buttons to get the wheels off and on. They don’t tell you what position to put the wheelchair in while trying to complete this task so it doesn‘t fall over. I first put a little rug down on the pavement so the paint won’t get scratched, fold the wheelchair, then turn the wheelchair over onto its front, until it balances without falling over. You can then easily pop the wheels off and pick up the frame to put in the car. Sunrise Medical REALLY should include this instruction in their manual! I am 4’ 11”, so I have the seat to floor height on the lowest setting that is included in basic price (17.5"). I still have some difficulty pushing myself with my good foot. I would recommend short people pay extra for a lower height. The wheels also roll a little stiffly, but I’m hoping they will loosen up with time and I won‘t have so much trouble.

Strengths: body is made well and the wheelchair folds very easily. It weighs about 30 lbs. or less with the leg rests and the arm rests off. It is as good as any we have had. My grandson was very happy when it came and so were we. We took it on a cruise in December and it held up quite well. I would recommend your company to all my friends who need wheelchairs or other equipment. You truly meet the needs of the disabled. It is affordable to all who need wheelchairs or who need other equipment. It was delivered quickly and nothing was wrong except the crutch holder only held one and we needed two because our grandson walks with two crutches and has braces on both legs. He has cerabellar degeneration with encephalopthy. He is 19 and has been this way since he was 4 years old when his mother was dying from a rare cancer.

Weaknesses: TWO DESIGN DEFECTS: (1) Transferring is difficult due to the "braking handles" which protrude upward (when in locked position)and makes sliding across them difficult. They should be reconfigured to allow full clearance --- as a person moves horizontally from a seat onto the wheelchair, or vice versa. (2) When a leg rest is swiveled aside (to allow exiting by sliding from the chair), the swiveled leg rest tangles with the adjacent front wheel, thereby preventing the chair from further positioning.

Strengths: It is light, easy to set up, and change (arms back, or off. Wheels off and on etc..). It is sleeker and easier to manage than the older model we had. The old Breezy we had was wider and a narrower chair is easier around the house and out and about. But this model does have upgrades that also make it much easier to handle. Once again I would like to commend SpinLife on their business efficiency. We were surprised when the UPS truck turned up with this chair about 4 days after putting in the order, just before the July 4 holiday.

End User Desc: This chair was purchased for my Mother who is declining in mobility due to advancing memory loss.
Strengths: Ability of the configurations, well balanced and smooth movement. Smart looking and really appreciate the light weight factor.
Weaknesses: O.K. I had to snap my fingers down into the fram once to remember the directions. Actually the printing on the manual could be cleaner, bit fuzzy in places and photos are hard to read for the details. Suggest using better grade of paper.

Strengths: When you wheel the chair yourself you have to have specific measurements that make it work for you. This chair is customizable enough to fit me. I am 6'1", weigh 170 lbs, It was important that it fit my height, and be close fitting enough to wheel comfortably. This chair fits the bill! It is lightweight enough for me to lift it in and out of the truck to take it with me when I go places. It comes apart so I can even put it in my daughter's Neon trunk if needed.

End User Desc: I am 39 and in good health except for chronic plantar fasciitis. I use the wheelchair only on outings such as shopping.
Strengths: I chose this chair primarily because it is lightweight, the wheels can be removed for more compact storage or transport, and it was relatively inexpensive. It meets my expectations in all of those areas!
Weaknesses: The wheels slip very easily which makes maneuvering a little cumbersome. I also seem to have a difficult time opening the chair. It doesn't seem to pop right open with a push on the seat, and I pinched my fingers trying to grip onto the edge of the seat and pry it open. Perhaps, I am doing something incorrectly. For my limited usage I'm still very happy with my purchase.

Strengths: The wheelchair is so very sturdy. It's perfect. I even e-mailed your company to make a change to my order and it was done so easy.
Weaknesses: The only bad thing about the order was that I ordered the chair in blue, but that was just for a change. I didn't report it to anyone since the chair is for my grandmother and the color really didn't matter. Strengths: I feel this product is well worth the money and meeting my mother's current needs. The chair is very light and quite easy to fold and lift into the trunk of the car. I am very pleased with this wheelchair and would recommend it to anyone. See question below for one minor concern.
Weaknesses: There was a problem with the right arm of the chair. It does not lock securely in place and when picking the chair to fold or put in the car, the arm comes up. At the time if receipt I did not feel that this problem merited the trouble of packing up the chair and sending it back. If there is anything you can recommend to improve the latch mechanism, kindly let me know. Other than this I am completely satisfied and am sorry I did not purchase this months ago.

Strengths: For the price, it's a pretty good chair. It's lightweight and easy to put in a vehicle, even for my 84-year-old mother. The construction seems reasonably solid and the brakes hold the wheels well.
Weaknesses: The brakes are stiff and difficult to engage, particularly if your hands are disabled. The velcro strips on the seat for a cushion could be wider. One of the rear wheels has become somewhat wobbly, though not apparently in danger of coming off.

| Seat
Depth1 Measure from the most posterior point of the body to the inside of the knee, minus at least two inches. Some prefer more leg overhang to make room for their hand when lifting their leg. Back Height2 Measured from the seat base to the top of the wheelchair back. Depends on how much upper back support is needed, and also affects freedom for the upper body to rotate. Rear Seat to Floor3 Measurement from the ground to the rear seat edge. Relative to the front seat-to-floor dimension, this determines the rearward slope ("dump" or "squeeze") of the wheelchair seat. Hanger Angle4 Determines how far the toes extend away from the body, measured from the horizontal. A tighter angle allows the wheelchair to turn around in less space. Depends in part on ability of the knee to bend towards the perpendicular. Seat Width5 Determined by the widest point of the body from knee to hip, plus an inch to ensure room to move. Consider bulk of clothing, particularly a heavy winter coat, if relevant. Wheel Camber6 Angle of the wheel relative to the vertical. More camber improves stability and agility, but also limits ability to pass through narrow spaces. A typical daily wheelchair uses three degrees of camber. Front Seat to Floor7 Measure the leg from the back of the knee to the sole of the foot. Then subtract the thickness of the cushion when it is compressed. Next, add a minimum of two inches for footrest clearance. Do not add the footrest clearance if the wheelchair will be foot-propelled. |
