  • ATX suspension for extra stability.
  • New Mid-Wheel 6 technology climbs obstacles up to 3".

Description

The new Jazzy 600 electric wheelchair features Mid-Wheel Drive 6 technology along with Pride's original, patented mid-wheel drive with enhanced stability.  Mid-Wheel 6 technology incorporates ATX suspension for extra stability along with independent active front OMNI-CastersTM that raise and lower as needed to instantly compensate for terrain changes. (Check out the video demonstrating this great technology: Click Here).   This technology prevents hang-ups and allows the chair to overcome obstacles up to 3" high. Whether transitioning curbs, climbing rough terrain or reverse handling, the new Jazzy 600 excels.

Nice chair!
Reviewer: Tracy R. from Palmdale, CA
End User Desc: female, 40 something, Chronic Progressive Multiple Sclerosis, uses daily

Strengths: Strong motor, battery life is long, Comfortable, fast, easy to use. I'm a 40 something mom of 3 kids. I have had a few power chairs before this one. I have to say this is a great chair! Lots of color options and seat options make it even better.

Weaknesses: None really that i can think of. One thing, there really is no need to get the swing away controls if you get the armrests that go up. It tends to swing away too easily even after tightening.

Very solid, dependable product.
Reviewer: William L. from Mesquit, TX (caregiver)
End User Desc: 57, female, multiple sclerosis, can not walk very many steps.

Strengths: My wife is not a particularly good driver of her powerchair, that is, although she knows how to drive it, she occasionally runs into walls and doors. I said "solid" above; sometimes it is too solid. Really, it is a great product; we haven't tested it outside yet due to the weather but hope to do that in a few months.

Weaknesses: So far none have arisen.

Seat Depth1
Measure from the most posterior point of the body to the inside of the knee, minus at least two inches. Some prefer more leg overhang to make room for their hand when lifting their leg.

Back Height2
Measured from the seat base to the top of the chair back. Power wheelchair riders need upper back support, particularly for the moment of initial acceleration.

Hanger Angle3
Determines how far the toes extend away from the body, measured from the horizontal. A tighter angle allows the electric power wheelchair to turn around in less space. Depends in part on ability of the knee to bend towards the perpendicular.

Seat Width4
Determined by the widest point of the body from knee to hip, plus an inch to ensure room to move. Consider bulk of clothing, particularly a heavy winter coat, if relevant.

Front Seat to Floor5
Measure the leg from the back of the knee to the sole of the foot. Then subtract the thickness of the cushion when it is compressed. Next, add a minimum of two inches for footrest clearance. Electric power wheelchairs are almost never foot-propelled by the user - so excluding the additional two inch footrest height for propelling is very rare.
