Overview of the Vantage Stair Lift

The Vantage Stair Lift by Harmar features high quality construction with a low price tag. This stair lift was designed with savvy shopper in mind, featuring a safe, study, low-maintenance build that is sure to keep you independent in your multi-level home. The Vantage Stair Lift features a rack-and-pinion system instead of a cable system, so it operates like the steering in a car; using a circular gear (the pinion) on a straight track (the rack).
What Makes This Different
The Vantage Stair Lift makes sure you have a smooth ride with its speed regulator. With many stair lifts, gravity works against you, so your ride down is faster. The Vantage’s speed regulator acts like a “cruise control,” ensuring you maintain a smooth, consistent speed, whether you are going up or down with the lift. This system allows you to remain comfortable and safe while operating your Vantage Stair Lift.
The Vantage Stair Lift’s design is simplified compared to other lifts, making maintenance a breeze. The lift’s rack system is covered, keeping your stairs clean and scuff free. Adding to the overall design, the modern, vinyl-upholstered seat can easily fold up, allowing obstruction-free access to the stairs when the lift is not in use.
Why We Like It
The Vantage Stair Lift assists you in your multi-level home with ease. The DC drive battery system of the lift features charging strips at the top and bottom of the track to ensure your lift stay powered. In the event of a power outage, the Vantage Stair Lift keeps going for 15-20 cycles. The lift also features two wireless remotes, allowing for total control, whether you are in the lift, or lifting someone else.
What You Need To Know When Ordering
The Vantage Stair Lift must be professionally installed, with installation taking 90 minutes or less. Please keep in mind that some states* require permits for the installation of the Vantage Stair Lift, with the cost of the permit not included in the professional installation fee. Please be aware that installation of the Vantage Stair Lift may not be available in some regions. Contact a SpinLife Product Expert to confirm that service is provided in your area.
*States that we know require additional permitting: AL, CA, CT, FL, GA, MA, MI, NJ, NY, OR, WA.

Measuring Guide

Measuring your stairway correctly is essential to ensuring that your new stair lift will install easily and function safely and properly. Please follow the instructions below carefully.

Step 1: Determine Mount Side
Determine Stair Lift Mount Side
Mount Side: From the bottom of your staircase looking up, determine on which side you want the lift installed. Because the lift mounts to the stairs and not the wall, you may choose either side.

Step 2: Measure for Length of Track
Measure for Length of Stair Lift
Measurement A - Top to Bottom: Stand at the top of your stairs and extend your tape measure down the staircase. The tape measure should lightly touch each stair tread and the tip should touch the landing at the bottom of the steps. The measurement should be from the front edge (nose) of the top landing to the floor at the bottom landing.
Measurement B - Top to First Step: Measure from the front edge (nose) at the top of the landing to the front edge (nose) of the first step.

Step 3: Measure the Stair Tread & Rise
Measure the Tread & Rise for the Stair Lift
Measurement C - Stair Tread Length: Measure the tread of a stair from front edge (nose) of a stair to back.
Measurement D - Stair Rise Height: Measure the rise of a stair by measuring the length from the front edge (nose) of one step straight down to the next tread.
Number of Risers: Count the number of stair risers on your staircase.

Step 4: Measure Top & Bottom Obstruction Distances
Measure Top & Bottom Obstruction Distances
Measurement E - Top Obstruction Distance: Measure the distance from the front edge of the top step to any obstruction on the top landing. Common obstructions include doors, walls or railings.
Measurement F - Bottom Obstructon Distance: Measure the distance from the front edge of the bottom stair to any obstruction on the bottom landing.

Step 5: Measure Width of Stairs
Measure Stair Width
Measurement G - Stair Width: Measure the width of the stairs from side to side.
