Common Questions
Can you bill Medicare for me?
Yes, you may be eligible for a scooter at little to no cost to you! For our selection of scooters eligible for assigned Medicare billing, and to learn more, click here.
If I want a different or more expensive scooter than those eligible under SpinLife's Medicare program, can SpinLife still help me?
Sure! We carry many scooters that are Medicare eligible, and you can choose any of these scooters and ask for "Courtesy Billing". First, you complete the purchase with SpinLife and let us know you have Medicare. We will then provide all needed paperwork to both you and your doctor. It is necessary to have a portion of the paperwork completed before shipping the scooter. If covered, Medicare will reimburse you directly at 80% of the allowable amount.
Will Medicare pay for my scooter?
Medicare may pay for an electric scooter if the beneficiary is unable to safely complete their activities of daily living within their home and unable to use a manual wheelchair. (Click here for full Medicare policy)
Can I take my scooter on an airplane?
All of our electric scooters have batteries that are "maintenance free" and are typically allowed on airlines. SpinLife advises that regardless of your maintenance free battery type ("gel cell" or "sealed lead acid") that you check with the airline directly to get their approval.
Will I be charged sales tax?
No.
Is shipping free?
Yes, standard ground shipping is FREE for all electric scooters. (Orders over $50 always ship for free everyday at SpinLife?)
What happens if my scooter breaks down?
SpinLife is here to support you through the complete sale and this includes helping you with any problems that may arise after you receive your scooter. Please contact us directly at 800-850-0335 and we will attempt to troubleshoot it over the phone. Many times it is the flip of a switch or re-connecting a wire to help you get on your way again. If we are not successful with that or it indicates a bigger problem we will arrange for a service technician to come to your home (only available on Pride and Golden Technologies scooters.) If you have a scooter by a different manufacturer, we will contact the manufacturer to obtain warranty parts and have them shipped to your home.
What happens if I want to return my mobility scooter?
If your motorized scooter arrives and it is not what you expected or needed, you can return it within 30 days as long as it is unused (tires are clean and no scratches) and in it's original packaging. You would be financially responsible for freight charges. If the scooter arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, SpinLife will arrange for freight and for shipping you an undamaged or corrected unit.
