Overview of the Go-Chair

Pride has always been known for their excellent full-sized power wheelchairs and great travel-sized scooters.  Now you can have the terrific features of both in the Go-Chair. With an easy-to-remove battery pack and lightweight frame, the Go-Chair is a great choice to get you going.

What Makes This Different
The Go-Chair features a comfortable and roomy 18" wide and 18" deep seat. This full sized seat is standard and provides all day comfort. It is also very easy to disassemble and the heaviest piece is just 34 pounds.

Why We Like It
We like the reliability of the Pride brand and the free one-year in-home service included. The Go-Chair is also so easy to use, and with a tight 26.75" turning radius this chair can be used in apartments, assisted living facilities, on cruise ships and in many other places.

What You Need to Know When Ordering
Although this chair does disassemble for transport, the heaviest piece is 34 pounds and some people may find it difficult to lift into a vehicle. If you are unable to lift this chair, consider purchasing a vehicle lift to transport the Go-Chair.

Measuring Guide

View Detailed Measurements
Seat Depth1
Measure from the most posterior point of the body to the inside of the knee, minus at least two inches. Some prefer more leg overhang to make room for their hand when lifting their leg.

Back Height2
Measured from the seat base to the top of the chair back. Power wheelchair riders need upper back support, particularly for the moment of initial acceleration.

Hanger Angle3
Determines how far the toes extend away from the body, measured from the horizontal. A tighter angle allows the electric power wheelchair to turn around in less space. Depends in part on ability of the knee to bend towards the perpendicular.

Seat Width4
Determined by the widest point of the body from knee to hip, plus an inch to ensure room to move. Consider bulk of clothing, particularly a heavy winter coat, if relevant.

Front Seat to Floor5
Measure the leg from the back of the knee to the sole of the foot. Then subtract the thickness of the cushion when it is compressed. Next, add a minimum of two inches for footrest clearance. Electric power wheelchairs are almost never foot-propelled by the user - so excluding the additional two inch footrest height for propelling is very rare.

Allows for independent living.
Reviewer: P. from Jackson, NJ (caregiver)

End User Desc: 68 year old female with spinal Stenosis, herniated discs and knee problems.

Strengths: Comfortable to sit on, keeps you mobile, fits into narrow places like the bathroom and is small enough to turn around in some tight spaces.

Weaknesses: The footrest could be a tripping point, even when in the up position, it should be designed to completely be out of the way of your feet when exiting and entering the chair. It would also be helpful if the seat were to turn sideways, both left & right. That would make it easier to enter & exit the chair as well. The pocket that comes with the chair, although could come in handy for a phone or some other things, adds to the width of the chair and brushes up against the walls in tight spaces, I had to remove it.
