Overview
The Axiom SP Fluid increases immersion into the cushion like the SP Visco but through a Hydrolite fluid instead of Viscoelastic Foam. By increasing the amount of immersion, the SP Visco allows the Trochanters to bear an effective load, thus widening the base of support which reduces the load on the Ischial Tuberosities.
What Makes This Different
The Hydrolite Fluid is the key difference between the SP Visco and the SP Fluid. The Visco foam must compress and functions whereas an elastic fluid functions as a displacer. This means that the Hydrolite fluid moves away from the object sitting on it to create an equilibrium so that all areas in contact with the user’s body have equal loading. The Hydrolite can flow as a fluid under the body, which helps to minimize shearing. A real advantage of the Hydrolite Fluid over other gel cushions is that the Hydrolite Fluid is extremely light and does not add the additional weight you may get with other gel cushions.

The Hydrolite Fluid bladder is designed to sit on top of the waterproof inner cover to reduce surface tension and maximize envelopment of the ischia and coccyx. The 4-way stretch inner cover with self-sealing zipper is water resistant and ready to clean. There is an easy-to-reach front handle and utility loops for hanging items such as keys.
