Advance-E Professional Patient Lift: Review
It is of high quality and portable.
The wheels do not swivel as easily as we would like and the length of the legs makes it a little difficult to turn in to doorways from a narrow hallway, causing damage to baseboards and door jambs.

I have inclusion-body Myositis and can no longer walk or stand. My caregivers use the lift to safely transfer me from my bed or wheelchair.
Excellent lift!!!!
Stability, ease of use, mobility.
None

Used to lift me from one position to another. My wife operates the lift.
This is easy to use.
Ease of use.
I don't like the sling and had to buy a new one with mesh fabric.

I am a 77 year old female who is 4 foot 10 inches tall and like the lift itself, but the instructions were less than good.
I will be happy to submit a new review for the Hoyer...
Each of the models (the one we got and the one we expect to receive) will fold up and can be transported and used away from home.
The person raising and lowering the lift we received cannot operate it while positioned next to the person in the lift. The operator has to stand behind or next to the center post. Also, the lift is difficult to roll over carpet, and it is difficult to take the elastic lock band off of the locked position when unfolding the lift. I feel that a Velcro or belt-type strap would be easier to use and just as effective in keeping the parts snug while moving the lift in its compact setting.

User is a 33 year old T-12 level paraplegic. We are using the lift shipped to us, but it is NOT the lift we ordered.
This lift was too heavy and cumbersome to use as more...
N/A
We did not even get it out of the box as it was apparent the lift was too bulky for caregivers to use and would not even fit in a modified van; this was an expensive mistake with return shipping and the restocking fee.

31 year old in chair with very limited mobility.
The advance patient lift is there when you need it.
The quality of the advance patient lift and portability is a good combination.
None to date.

Male, 64 years young. I work at a university full time. I have the lift to pick me up with the aid of my wife when I fall due to Multiple Sclerosis.
A wonderful product
The fact that it can lift from the floor
Price is a little high

My daughter is the reason I bought the lift; she has a neuromuscular disease and sometimes has trouble transferring
The Hoyer is like adding another person's strength to help...
It allows us to get the handicapped person from one point to another in a much easier way.
It doesn't reach high enough to get him on the new mattress heights.

The Advanced Hoyer Lift is a major blessing that helps my husband get into his wheelchair when he lacks the strength to do it himself.
Very well made.
Easy to use.
Does not roll on carpet when transferring patient.

My 78 year old husband, weight 230#, has a degenerative muscle disease. He is not able to stand or transfer by himself.
Great lift at reasonable price
The lift is lightweight and easily movable, transitions well between wood floor and carpet, good battery life, doesn't take up much floor space, love the foot pedals.
I wish the remote was magnetic so that it would stay where you put it, the recharge cord is very short, and the remote buttons are rather small.

My husband has multiple sclerosis and although he weighs very little and is relatively tall, his muscles get very spastic.
I gave a four on ease of use because it does not roll on...
It is well built and does everything I need to move the patient
The ease of use as I stated on carpet. It would be better if it had larger wheels and would roll better on carpet
robert b. from portsmouth, va (caregiver)
My wife is 84 and is a paraplegic and cannot walk
Smooth movement in elevating or lowering patient
The unit moves the patient up and down slowly and smoothly. Rotating the person while elevated is very easy.
Unable to steer the unit with the patient elevated. It moves smoothly across the hardwood floor without anyone in the unit. Once you put a person in the unit the front casters do not move easily.
ronald p. from marlton, nj (caregiver)
The person has no use of his legs or one arm.
