Made in the U.S.A. with a fast-charging, carry-along worldwide charger, the BOSS 4.5 offers comfort and power while still disassembling into 6 pieces
The PaceSaver Scout Boss 4.5 is an exceptional combination of performance, comfort and size. The powerful 75 amp Rockwell motors with a high efficiency direct gear travels up to 25 miles on a charge. Removable armrests are width, height, depth and angle adjustable. The chair also separates into six pieces with the heaviest piece being 115 pounds.
What Makes This Different
The Scout Boss 4.5 is available with several different seat styles, footrests and accessories for a custom designed chair that suits your needs. Choose from seats ranging from 21" to 24" wide and seat styles ranging from a standard Admiral's seat, orthopedic contoured Com-for-Back or a solid seat base for custom seat and back cushions. The footrests and accessories range from elevating legrests, amputee supports and flat-free solid tires.
Why We Like It
We like the PaceSaver Scout Boss 4.5 for its strength, durability and heavy-duty steel suspension frame. This power chair is built to last, and made in the USA. It will travel up to 25 miles on a single charge and has the ability to traverse inclines up to 9º. It is great for both indoor and outdoor use, especially with its standard pneumatic tires.
What You Need to Know When Ordering
This chair ships via a standard Curbside delivery or with an optional upgraded White Glove delivery. The Curbside delivery ships the chair directly to you, via a freight company, and the chair is delivered to the ground level of your home. If you have any stairs leading to your door, the delivery company will leave the box at the base of the stairs. For additional assistance, choose the upgraded White Glove delivery option. This option delivers the chair to a local trained agent where the box is unpackaged and inspected for damage. The agent will call to schedule a delivery and bring the chair directly to you, into your home. Though our White Glove Delivery option includes the set-up of your power chair, comfort adjustments, like foot rest height, will need to be done by the caregiver or user.
Measure from the most posterior point of the body to the inside of the knee, minus at least two inches. Some prefer more leg overhang to make room for their hand when lifting their leg.
Measured from the seat base to the top of the chair back. Power wheelchair riders need upper back support, particularly for the moment of initial acceleration.
Determines how far the toes extend away from the body, measured from the horizontal. A tighter angle allows the electric power wheelchair to turn around in less space. Depends in part on ability of the knee to bend towards the perpendicular.
Determined by the widest point of the body from knee to hip, plus an inch to ensure room to move. Consider bulk of clothing, particularly a heavy winter coat, if relevant.
Front Seat to Floor5
Measure the leg from the back of the knee to the sole of the foot. Then subtract the thickness of the cushion when it is compressed. Next, add a minimum of two inches for footrest clearance. Electric power wheelchairs are almost never foot-propelled by the user - so excluding the additional two inch footrest height for propelling is very rare.
