Affordable, lightweight, and full of safety features!
The M43 was designed for making transporting a power wheelchair easy and affordable. This chair weighs 60 lbs with batteries, making it a durable, lightweight option for travel. Being able to completely fold up allows the chair to be stored in a car trunk or other similar tight spaces. The chair can be folded down to a very space conscious 31” x 15.5” x 23.5”. Maneuvering in tight spaces is easy with a turning radius of only 24.25". The 9.7 mile range is good for medium distances and additional batteries are available if you would like to carry a spare, in the removable underseat storage bag.
What Makes This Different
The M43 comes standard with many attractive features. The 8" front wheels come with suspension - making your ride comfortable regardless of terrain - while the 12" flat-free rear wheels come with peace of mind: never having to worry about another flat tire! For ease of transfer and portability, the M43 comes equipped with flip back armrests and a swing away joystick. The plush 17.25" wide seat cushion is removable and the cushion cover is machine washable.
Why We Like It
The 3.7 mph max speed is typical for a folding frame power wheelchair, but its features are what sets the M43 apart. The M43 comes equipped with a built in lap belt, front suspension system with flat free wheels, and adjustable anti tip wheels. These features make the M43 one of the most dependable and safe folding power chairs on the market. The M43 has a 9.7 miles on a full charge due to its 24 Volt 10 Amp Lithium battery. A 24.25” turning radius allows the M43 maneuverable indoors and out.
Measure from the most posterior point of the body to the inside of the knee, minus at least two inches. Some prefer more leg overhang to make room for their hand when lifting their leg.
Measured from the seat base to the top of the chair back. Power wheelchair riders need upper back support, particularly for the moment of initial acceleration.
Determines how far the toes extend away from the body, measured from the horizontal. A tighter angle allows the electric power wheelchair to turn around in less space. Depends in part on ability of the knee to bend towards the perpendicular.
Determined by the widest point of the body from knee to hip, plus an inch to ensure room to move. Consider bulk of clothing, particularly a heavy winter coat, if relevant.
Front Seat to Floor5
Measure the leg from the back of the knee to the sole of the foot. Then subtract the thickness of the cushion when it is compressed. Next, add a minimum of two inches for footrest clearance. Electric power wheelchairs are almost never foot-propelled by the user - so excluding the additional two inch footrest height for propelling is very rare.
