What Makes This Different

The wheelchair cushion's pre-contoured curved bottom counteracts the adverse affects of sling seat upholstery and improves leg position without the need of a heavy solid seat.  The Jay Active's center seam stops lateral fluid movement to promote and stabilize a level pelvis position, important for the active user because it maintains an even distribution of gel.

Why We Like It
The Jay Active has lateral thigh supports that improve leg position for tall users and an incontinence base cover protects foam from moisture absorption.  This premium cushion is an excellent solution to those at risk for pressure sores.

What You Need to Know When Ordering
Select a cushion width to match your hip width when in the seated position.  The space should be long enough to extent 1"-2" from back of knees.

This Gel cushion keeps down skin break down the best.
Reviewer: R. from South Pittsburg, TN (caregiver)

End User Desc: physical disability

Strengths: The gel and the soft surface, are its strengths, the gel moves with the body and the soft surface material makes it very comfortable.

Weaknesses: I don't think they last as long as they use to! It seems to come unsealed at the seams. You could make one for the automobile with the foundation thinner. Also how long have they been made in Mexico?

Reviewer: B. from Grand Rapids, MI

End User Desc: MS patient - age 60 - semi-active

Strengths: It's well made and works pretty well for me. Comfortable. Cushions are highly indivdual & this might not be good for others but I like it.

Weaknesses: I don't like sitting on any surface all the time. This included. Gel pad seems lumpy as it needs to be shoved together to fit into cover.

expensive, but worth the cost.
Reviewer: H. from Lakewood, NJ (caregiver)

End User Desc: age 74, uses wheelchair

Strengths: extremely comfortable for someone sitting in a wheelchair for many hours at a time. we also put the old cushion on the seat in the van, which makes the ride more comfortable.

Weaknesses: sometimes it slips in the chair and has to be adjusted. this is a very minor inconvenience.
