Product Basics

All Pacesaver scooters handle inclines better than most, and the Passport Jr. is no exception. Plus it’s the only travel scooter available with a standard sliding seat. If hand dexterity is an issue, you’ll like the Passport Jr.’s finger-or-thumb-operated delta tiller. What’s particularly notable about this scooter is its array of available options, including a power-elevating seat, and the widest custom seat size available on a travel scooter. The Passport Junior’s high-capacity batteries are another nice option for longer, 20-30 mile charges. Disassembly is as easy as pulling a single pin. Made in the USA.

Strengths: I was very well satisfied with my Passport Junior 3-wheel scooter. I love the ground clearance and the power of my new scooter.

For someone who wants to be able to go places like the Williamsburg, Kipona and other outdoor activities it is nice to have the ground clearance.
Reviewer: Susan S. from Grand Blanc, MI
End User Desc: 57 year old woman that has had 3 spinal surgeries and due for more due to injuries sustained in three car accidents since 11/2000.

Strengths: The ability to use the scooter in gravel/grass and up inclines. The distance per charge has made it nice. I like the stability it appears to have unlike the wheelchair style scooters I have seen people using that have look like they are about to tip over on inclines.

Weaknesses: Not quite enough control over the bar that regulates speed. It can sometimes jump because you don't really have the control you have with a gas pedal. I am getting better at adjusting the knob for the speed, but it would still be nice to have a little more control in the thumb bar. Also, I think there should be a better way to ship, as I could not get to the manuel before I got it out of the box. Also, I found the cardboard blocks in the shipping box very difficult to remove. Another thing I could suggest is that you make the charging cord longer. One possible improvement might be installing something that would allow me to attach (or put through) the straps I use to tie down the scooter during transportation.

Comfortable, but somewhat unstable.
Reviewer: Frank Ray S. from Albuquerque, NM
End User Desc: 71 y o. male, Archt., Active. COPD, high oxy. use. Bad arthritis.

Strengths: The Passport Jr. is nice looking, easy to keep clean, fairly easy to disassemble, and drives easily.

Weaknesses: It is difficult to tell when a slope is too steep, and possible to end up on your back with no warning. The safety wheels are just about worthless. Batteries cumbersome to get in and out; I wish they had a simpler connection.

Fits a fit but not a universal solution.
Reviewer: Herluf C. from Council Bluff, IA
End User Desc: 90 YO male, limited endurance, 6', 200-220 lbs.

Strengths: Portability. Fits in most car trunks. Meets needs of mid size and up planes without removing seat post.

Weaknesses: Does not fit a 6' person well - difficult for a mobility impaired person to get feet to one side or the other because of front-back clearance between tiller and seat. Although clearance good enough to go over curbs, center of gravity too high. Even with care, it has tipped over twice at low-medium speed.

Good for all around mobility, shopping, playing, neighborhood visiting.
Reviewer: Fred J. from Big Bear City, CA
End User Desc: 72 year old male. 275 lbs. 6'4" tall. Difficulty walking due to diabetic neuropathy.

Strengths: I live in the San Bernardino Mountains of southern California. The scooter performs exceeding well on inclines. Climb the hillside as much as 350 feet up to @ 6% grade with no problems.

Weaknesses: In 5 weeks use the only weakness I have found is it is a bit confining for my size 6'4", but that is because I wanted to compromise size for weight.

Reviewer: Mark M. from Oklahoma City, OK
End User Desc: I am age 56 male, have had a knee replacement with poor results

Strengths: it is very good, it's strong in almost all areas

Weaknesses: the fact that you can't get it wet can be a problem for me. at work I have to go between buildings and in bad weather it limits me greatly
