Very easy to adjust the wheels to change the height of seat. Folds easily.
Reviewer: Milton G. from Lafayette, LA (caregiver)
End User Desc: This wheelchair is used part of the day for my 80 year old wife, a victim of Alzheimer's. She is seated in a Geri chair the other part of the day.

Strengths: Very sturdy.

Weaknesses: Lack of seat belts, however, I realize that health department agencies restricts the use of those in most cases.

Good buy - high quality for cost
Reviewer: Katharine W. from Blue Grass, VA
End User Desc: I am 66 year old female with arthritis and a detached Achilles tendon. I work full time from home and at a manufacturing site. I am very active.

Strengths: Detachable foot rests and arm rests - narrow width - I own a very old farm house with narrow doorways - I use a different heavy duty wheelchair for work, shopping and sporting events.

Weaknesses: This is really not a weakness, but I exceed the weight limit and so eventually (about 9-12 months) there is metal fatique. The cross beams will shear off. I always have an identical wheechair on hand so when this happens, I am not left high and dry. I order the next wheelchair as soon as I start using the new one. - I always remove the leg rests and arm rests immediately. I just throw them away because they are of no use to me.

Life Saver
Reviewer: Darlene B. from Suwanee, GA
End User Desc: Purchased wheel chair after breaking my foot. Very light weight, terrific size made it easy to maneuver around the island in my kitchen.

Strengths: Ease of movement. Easy to fold and unfold for the vehicle. Ability to change the wheels for transporting.

Weaknesses: No weaknesses for the wheelchair but I had to call about my transporter kit because it wasn't shipped with the chair. I did receive them promptly after calling Spinlife.

Yes
Reviewer: James D. from Charleston, SC
End User Desc: Product used in medical device R&D

Strengths: Strength

Weaknesses: The Medline 3000 transport (small) wheels can only be used with the 19" seat height setup (and not with the 17" or hemi setup). This should be mentioned in the product literature. Also, the seat angle or dump should be part of the product literature.

the Excel 3000 has given me back my freedom to enjoy life, even with my physical limitations!
Reviewer: Pamela M. from New Philidephia, OH
End User Desc:

Strengths: I love the compact size and maneuverability. It's very easy for my family to get it in and out of the vehicle. Takes uneven terrain very well, even when we are in historical districts with brick pavers. Even with the weakness in my arms, I am able to use the wheels myself on smooth floors. I might add the the salesperson was extremely helpful, patient and cheerful while assisting me on the phone. I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

Weaknesses: Haven't found any yet!

This chair takes uneven pavement well and has a smooth ride.
Reviewer: Pamela M. from New Philidephia, OH
End User Desc: I am a 56-year old woman with fibromyalgia & arthritis and have had recent foot surgery.

Strengths: I have not been to outlet malls in years due to my inability to walk the distance. This summer we have been to 2 outlet malls in Ohio and I have been able to participate with my family in covering the malls completely! This chair is so easy for me to maneuver myself when necessary.

Weaknesses: I wish I would have included a seat cushion at the time of purchase.

Seat Depth1
Measure from the most posterior point of the body to the inside of the knee, minus at least two inches. Some prefer more leg overhang to make room for their hand when lifting their leg.

Back Height2
Measured from the seat base to the top of the wheelchair back. Depends on how much upper back support is needed, and also affects freedom for the upper body to rotate.

Rear Seat to Floor3
Measurement from the ground to the rear seat edge. Relative to the front seat-to-floor dimension, this determines the rearward slope ("dump" or "squeeze") of the wheelchair seat.

Hanger Angle4
Determines how far the toes extend away from the body, measured from the horizontal. A tighter angle allows the wheelchair to turn around in less space. Depends in part on ability of the knee to bend towards the perpendicular.

Seat Width5
Determined by the widest point of the body from knee to hip, plus an inch to ensure room to move. Consider bulk of clothing, particularly a heavy winter coat, if relevant.

Wheel Camber6
Angle of the wheel relative to the vertical. More camber improves stability and agility, but also limits ability to pass through narrow spaces. A typical daily wheelchair uses three degrees of camber.

Front Seat to Floor7
Measure the leg from the back of the knee to the sole of the foot. Then subtract the thickness of the cushion when it is compressed. Next, add a minimum of two inches for footrest clearance. Do not add the footrest clearance if the wheelchair will be foot-propelled.
