The Invacare Top End Force-3 Handcycle is the newest addition to the Force series; it combines features from the Force G, Force CC and the Force 2. The contemporary "Stealth Black" matte finish enhances the sleekness of the handcycle's wrap-around frame. It is easy to ride and comes complete with 27 speeds, 26" high performance wheels and Shimano® components. The 26-559 wheel size offers so many tire choices, from high preformance road tires, cruisers clincher, or even knobby tires. The Force-3 comes with threaded axles only and comes standard with high pressure cruiser clincher tires.
The Force-3 has 7" ground clearance, 2" higher than the Force-2 making it easier for transfering in and out of the handcycle. The Force-3 is available in a 15" or 17" seat width and has a 60" wheelbase. There are two backrest options available; the reclining backrest is standard or the straight back for those who refer the trunk power poisition for an additional charge. The straight back option is compatible with the Bion X Power Boost upgrade. The Bion X is great for assisting on steep inclines or strong headwinds.
The Top End Force-3 is shipped with all the standard features you will need and does require some assembly. The assembly generally takes 30 minutes and any additional options and accessories are shipped separately and will also require assembly. The Race 44 option is avaiable for factory assembly of the frame, front fork, back support bar, chain guard and safety flag clamp.
Measure from the most posterior point of the body to the inside of the knee, minus at least two inches. Optimal contact between the legs and the seat increases stability for the body.
Measured from the seat base to the top of the chair back. Sport users need enough height for upper body support, yet low enough to allow the arms and trunk to rotate freely.
Rear Seat to Floor3
Measurement from the ground to the rear seat edge. Relative to the front seat-to-floor dimension, this determines the rearward slope ("dump" or "squeeze") of the seat. Sport chairs usually have more dump for extra upper body stability.
Determines how far the toes extend away from the body, measured from the horizontal. Sport users often use very tight angles to be able to rotate in the smallest possible space.
Determined by the widest point of the body from knee to hip, plus an inch to ensure room to move. Sport chairs are typically as narrow as possible to save weight which improves agility.
Angle of the wheel relative to the vertical. More camber improves stability and agility, but also limits ability to pass through narrow spaces. A typical sport chair uses nine to twelve degrees of camber.
Front Seat to Floor7
Measure the leg from the back of the knee to the sole of the foot. Then subtract the thickness of the cushion when it is compressed. Next, add a minimum of two inches for footrest clearance. Do not add the footrest clearance if the chair will be foot-propelled.
