Description

The Access Indoor Stair Lift from Harmar is a great solution when walking up and down your indoor stairs in no longer an option.  With a cable-operated system that uses steel aircraft cable rated at 4,200 pounds breaking strength, you are guaranteed a smooth and safe ride. And quick too at a speed of 20 feet per minute.

One of the features of this unit that separates it from its competitors is that the seat swivels a full 90 degrees at the top and the bottom of the lift, this allows for safe entry and exit of the stairlift.  It also has safety sensors on each side of the footplate which stops the lift if there are any obstructions on the track.  And call/send stations both at the top and bottom of the unit makes it convenient no matter where you need it.

This unit ships ready to be installed...we just need all the indicated measurements.  This unit can be self-installed or we can arrange for installation.

Measuring your stairway correctly is essential to ensuring that your new stair lift will install easily and function safely and properly. Please follow the instructions below carefully.

Step 1: Determine Mount Side
Determine Stair Lift Mount Side
Mount Side: From the bottom of your staircase looking up, determine on which side you want the lift installed. Because the lift mounts to the stairs and not the wall, you may choose either side.

Step 2: Measure for Length of Track
Measure for Length of Stair Lift
Measurement A - Top to Bottom: Stand at the top of your stairs and extend your tape measure down the staircase. The tape measure should lightly touch each stair tread and the tip should touch the landing at the bottom of the steps. The measurement should be from the front edge (nose) of the top landing to the floor at the bottom landing.
Measurement B - Top to First Step: Measure from the front edge (nose) at the top of the landing to the front edge (nose) of the first step.

Step 3: Measure the Stair Tread & Rise
Measure the Tread & Rise for the Stair Lift
Measurement C - Stair Tread Height: Measure the tread of a stair from front edge (nose) of a stair to back.
Measurement D - Stair Rise Length: Measure the rise of a stair by measuring the length from the front edge (nose) of one step straight down to the next tread.
Number of Risers: Count the number of stair risers on your staircase.

Step 4: Measure Top & Bottom Obstruction Distances
Measure Top & Bottom Obstruction Distances
Measurement E - Top Obstruction Distance: Measure the distance from the front edge of the top step to any obstruction on the top landing. Common obstructions include doors, walls or railings.
Measurement F - Bottom Obstructon Distance: Measure the distance from the front edge of the bottom stair to any obstruction on the bottom landing.

Step 5: Measure Width of Stairs
Measure Stair Width
Measurement G - Stair Width: Measure the width of the stairs from side to side.
