Product BasicsGoing to Las Vegas or Disneyworld? You’ll need a travel scooter that covers long distances on a single charge. The Phantom from Drive Medical gives you 15 miles per charge, compared to other travel scooters’ standard 10 miles per charge. Lots of bells and whistles come standard, too, including a padded, height-adjustable seat with flip-back arms, a roomy front basket and a safety headlight. We also like the easy “finger-pull” throttle, a wireless battery pack with a longer range and flat-free tires. |

End User Desc: I'm 55 and have Empasema, congentanel heart failer, and diebetic. My legs are so bad that I'm in pain when I walk.
Strengths: Easy to take apart for trunk. Not heave. Battery feels the heavest part for us. The more I used it, I find new ways to take it down. Feels good to be able to go into a grocery store in over a year. Remember to take battery out before you pick scooter up.
Weaknesses: Hard putting the back piece and front piece together. Much easer just to keep together.

Strengths: It turns perfectly when close to walls, tables and soforth. Starts up fast and stops on a dime so to speak....
Weaknesses: There are only a few things I do not like about my scooter and that is the horn does not work unless you are a mouse or a bug ..you cannot hear it at all and when on the low speeds sometimes it does not move until you turn the dial up to a faster speed and then it is too fast, like when you have to back up you will shoot out too fast. I think i just need to get used to it.

End User Desc: 63 yrs. old - have had foot surgery and cannot stand weight on one foot.
Strengths: This scooter is very strong (climbs well - charge lasts a long time). It's been to State Fair and did so well. It holds up to 250 pounds. I weigh a little less and it does very well. I would tell anyone to be sure to get a scooter with this better, larger and well padded chair seat. You spend a lot of time on it and the hard seats will not do.
Weaknesses: The main thing unnecessary is the back-up beeper or horn. It is quite loud - especially at home and when you are out in a crowd, they don't hear it and even when they can, they just don't pay attention to it. So, I find this "horn" to be completely unnecessary and a nuisance. You must be able to drive the scooter safely to handle it for others will not pay attetion. It is a little heavy so you will need a helper to go with you. Whaterever you do, do NOT take the two bottom wheel areas apart as they are hard to get back together. You won't need to in order to get it into a car.

Strengths: This scooter is very easy to manuver. It is a good size and was great on a trip.
Weaknesses: The speed dial doesn't really move the scooter until over the half way mark. You have to have it on near high to really move at a reasonable speed and then it easy to forget to turn it down when you get off. When you next start it is the high speed position. Strengths: The ease of most assembly. The well constructed seat with ample room and good arm rests. It goes in narrow areas and makes tight turns. And the freedom it gives to the user to go places they couldn't go before. It is neat to see it's use in the elevator in medical buildings.
Weaknesses: I think putting the seat assembly together is the hardest for me. I have difficulty trying to get the locking pin in and so end up leaving it undone. Oh yes, the cover on the headlight keeps poping off. If that could be fastened better it would be good. Other than those two things I think it is a very good product.
