Overview of the Cirrus Plus

The Drive Cirrus Plus power wheelchair is a great wheelchair at an even better price. It has all the options you would expect in a more expensive transportable power wheelchair including an attractive silver vein finish, swing-away footrests, height-adjustable armrests and a cushion at a price that can't be beat. The Cirrus Plus also features adjustable tension back upholstery and a programmable PG controller. The joystick mount is mounted on the right and is adjustable in length and wheel locks are standard.

What Makes This Different
The Cirrus Plus is available in three seat widths, 16" and 18" widths have no extra charge and the 20" seat width is available for an upgrade. It also includes a comfortable foam cushion for support, calf support and heel loops standard. This powerchair is also available in a Heavy Duty model with a 22" seat width standard.

Why We Like It
We like all of the great standard features included with the Cirrus Plus. It also comes with one-year in-home service and free curbside delivery.

What You Need to Know When Ordering
The Cirrus Plus is great for travelling and transporting however it does weigh 90 pounds. Because of this heavy weight you may want to consider purchasing a vehicle lift to transport your Cirrus Plus.

This chair ships via a freight company and will arrive in one large box. Because it is shipped by a freight company the delivery time will be 5-7 days. If you purchase the upgraded White Glove Delivery, expect to have an additional 5-7 days added to your delivery time.

Measuring Guide

View Detailed Measurements
Seat Depth1
Measure from the most posterior point of the body to the inside of the knee, minus at least two inches. Some prefer more leg overhang to make room for their hand when lifting their leg.

Back Height2
Measured from the seat base to the top of the chair back. Power wheelchair riders need upper back support, particularly for the moment of initial acceleration.

Hanger Angle3
Determines how far the toes extend away from the body, measured from the horizontal. A tighter angle allows the electric power wheelchair to turn around in less space. Depends in part on ability of the knee to bend towards the perpendicular.

Seat Width4
Determined by the widest point of the body from knee to hip, plus an inch to ensure room to move. Consider bulk of clothing, particularly a heavy winter coat, if relevant.

Front Seat to Floor5
Measure the leg from the back of the knee to the sole of the foot. Then subtract the thickness of the cushion when it is compressed. Next, add a minimum of two inches for footrest clearance. Electric power wheelchairs are almost never foot-propelled by the user - so excluding the additional two inch footrest height for propelling is very rare.

Good product for the money
Reviewer: A. from Mountain Home, AR

End User Desc: 69 year old with multiple sclerosis.

Strengths:

Weaknesses: The armrests are set too far back, which makes you feel like you're going to fall out of chair going downhill. Also throws me off balance while transferring.

Wheel size is good. Back wheels don't get in the way.
Reviewer: H. from Mimbres, NM

End User Desc: 85 year old woman with terrible balance.

Strengths: Strengths are that the chair gives mobility to a person who doesn't have independent movement.

Weaknesses: Can you not come up with some decent color choices besides black? What about red, or turquoise or purple. Putting a black machine together is difficult to see parts, places and is just boring!

Product basically adequate for intended use.
Reviewer: B. from Austin, TX

End User Desc: Wheelchair mobile (but able to self transfer), and needed chair to transport for travel.

Strengths: Cable/wire connections are easy to "hook up", as they will only connect if you are connecting them to the correct connection. In summary will not connect wrong cables/wires together.

Weaknesses: Assembly directions were not available/limited, which required some basic knowledge of wheelchair construction. Cable wires are cumbersome, as need to be careful to keep them from hanging dangerously on floor. Strapping the battery securely is also cumbersome.Disassembling/Reassembling process takes time. Battery charging unit doesn't have any indication(lights, etc.)that it is functioning unless chair is turned on.
