The Vicair Liberty X Cushion is a unique cushion that uses a PVC-lined insert and Comfort Cell air cells to contour to the user for maximum support. The cushion is made up of the cover, a sealed PVC liner containing front and rear chambers which contain Comfort Cell air cells coated in a silicon lubricant, as well as a foam base which provides femoral support and trochanter loading to the cushion. The foam base has its own Comfort-Tek cover, which has a waterproof zipper, protecting against incontinence and infection. The Vicair Liberty X Cushion comes with two cover options: Stretch-Air and Comfort-Tek
What Makes This Different
Unlike the other cushions in the Vicair Series, the Liberty X comes with pre-loaded Comfort Cell air cells in a silicon fluid, which helps the cushion conform to the user. Unlike the adjustable chambers in the other cushions, the Liberty X features an air valve, allowing for customized user support. It’s as simple as opening the air valve of the PVC-lined cushion insert, sitting on the insert for one to five minutes while it contours to the user, and closing the air valve before inserting it into the cover.
Why We Like It
The Vicair Liberty X Cushion has two cover options which provide added support and comfort to the Comfort Cell technology. The Stretch-Air cover is designed for patient comfort and heat dissipation. The polyurethane barrier also provides incontinence protection. The Comfort-Tek cover is easy-to-clean and designed to help with infection control, as well as incontinence protection.
The Vicair Liberty X Cushion has an optional upgraded GlideWear cover, which adds a sheer-reducing pad to the back part of the cushion. This allows more movement for the user while promoting healing and lowering the risk of decubitus ulcers in the high pressure areas.
