Overview
The Acta-Relief Back by Comfort Company brings total customization to your wheelchair back. Featuring Boa® reel technology, the Acta-Relief Back allows for micro, one millimeter adjustments with a simple turn of the reels. This system allows for even adjustments and relieves the stress of high pressure contact points while providing maximum comfort.
What Makes This Different
Instead of dealing with straps or clunky hardware, the Acta-Relief Back’s Boa® reel technology is as simple as pulling the reels to release tension, pushing the reel in to engage the system and turning it to customize the back to you. Once the Boa® reel is locked in place, it stays in place, meaning you won’t need to keep making adjustments to your back. Combining this with the open-back frame means that you will experience contact on all points of your back, as you ‘go through’ the open frame to rest on the thick Viscool™ surface of the back.
The Acta-Relief Back has two cover options, which provide added support and comfort to the Comfort Cell technology. The Stretch-Air cover is designed for patient comfort and heat dissipation. The polyurethane barrier also provides incontinence protection. The Comfort-Tek cover is easy-to-clean and designed to help with infection control, as well as incontinence protection.

Whether you need more lumbar support, support on the left or right side, or an open back to allow for more pressure relief, the Acta-Relief Back will adjust to meet your needs.
The Acta-Relief Back comes with the fully-adjustable Compass Hardware, which allows for the back’s height, depth and angle of recline (up to 30) to fit your needs. The Compass Hardware comes in both quick release and non-quick release models.
