Description
The ActiveCare Wildcat is a lightweight, highly maneuverable power wheelchair. This traditional rear-wheel drive chair has a tight turning radius of just 32" to easily maneuver and negotiate obstacles and narrow spaces both inside and outside the home. The chair and battery bracket fold to a compact 13" wide for easy handling and transport. It features an adjustable, programmable controller with a wide range of selections for a variety of user needs and requirements.

Very good product

Strengths: Durability, range (battery life), speed, excelldent controls, automatically reduces speed when turning, easily adjustable for comfort, airlines like it, good turning radius. Fairly easy to take apart. I use it mainly for outdoor jaunts. This will not replace my scooter, but fits in the back of my small SUV, scooter has to go in the van.
Weaknesses: Definitely needs a key lock on the power switch, you CANNOT leave it unattended at a mall or other crowded public place. It is mfg. in other colors but SpinLife doesn't offer it. A bright color would help with the security issue. Two attempts to steal mine have been made. Longer extensions on cableing would make it possible for me to assemble without help. You have to get on your knees to hook up power cables. A little heavy, I can't lift myself but can with my wife's help. Other than the key lock all nagging issues. All in all a very good product.

A great price, and it's portable

Strengths: It's easy to take apart and put together.
Weaknesses: The leg rest construction lets the foot plate slip out of alignment and out of position. They are also prone to damage from users who crash into things a lot.

Strengths: I bought this product for a close relative and I cannot give you any more info except that it gets the person out of his apartment and he is using it a lot. He thanked me profusely as he was house bound for over a year.I am happy.
Weaknesses: I have just become a senior lady and I own a hatch back vehicle, it is very heavy and it would be nice if some light ramps could attach to drive it into the vehicle.If it were for my own personal use I would require this assistance.It appears to be very strong and versatile and it is quite compact for convenience.

Great if transportation is not an issue

Strengths: it's comfortable, great battery life
Weaknesses: Way too heavy for easy transportation, the joystick is very sensitive so you have to be very careful not to accidentally touch it. The seat is on the small side - I weigh only 90lbs and, with my winter coat on, I just fit nicely

Depth1 Measure from the most posterior point of the body to the inside of the knee, minus at least two inches. Some prefer more leg overhang to make room for their hand when lifting their leg. Back Height2 Measured from the seat base to the top of the chair back. Power wheelchair riders need upper back support, particularly for the moment of initial acceleration. Hanger Angle3 Determines how far the toes extend away from the body, measured from the horizontal. A tighter angle allows the electric power wheelchair to turn around in less space. Depends in part on ability of the knee to bend towards the perpendicular. Seat Width4 Determined by the widest point of the body from knee to hip, plus an inch to ensure room to move. Consider bulk of clothing, particularly a heavy winter coat, if relevant. Front Seat to Floor5 Measure the leg from the back of the knee to the sole of the foot. Then subtract the thickness of the cushion when it is compressed. Next, add a minimum of two inches for footrest clearance. Electric power wheelchairs are almost never foot-propelled by the user - so excluding the additional two inch footrest height for propelling is very rare. |
